ESTEEMED GUESTS IN ATTENDANCE ARE HONORED FOR “CINEMA AND HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS” BY PRINCESS ANGELIQUE MONET’S AFI WORLD PEACE INITIATIVE “PEACE AND TOLERANCE GALA” AT THE CARLTON HOTEL (CANNES) IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MYVIOS.COM AND NESICON
Cannes, France – May 29, 2016 – Royals, Diplomats, Knights, along side pioneers in film, fine art, performance, and fashion came to Cannes from May 16 through the 19 in support of HRH Princess Angelique Monét’s A.F.I. World Peace Initiative (Cannes). The innovative program was created to launch and support compelling films that impact the global marketplace, and will help aide in peace, social justice, environmental concerns, and world peace relations during Festival de Cannes. The organization hosted screenings in the marketplace through Monét’s company Greta Joanne Entertainment, and her Signature event “Peace and Tolerance” Gala, which was hosted May 17th from 7:30 p.m. -12 am, at the Grand Ballroom of the Intercontinental Carlton Hotel in Cannes, France. The gala is a division of AFI World Peace Initiative’s push to promote and honor esteemed individuals whose art forms assist in “Humanitarian and Cinema” arenas. In addition, compelling films that meet artistic merit and aide in world peace relations, social justice, or culture were awarded. Highlighting the evening were esteemed fine artists who exhibited their works represented cultures from around the world.
“Hosting our Signature yearly event during Festival de Cannes is a necessity because it is the gathering place for international trend setters. Our goal is to continue promoting art forms such as film, fine artist, fashion, and performance because these are the tools that can educate and impact the world. It is indeed an honor that our distinguished Honorees believe so much in our year round mission, and certainly promoting peace is an agenda that I encourage for us all,” stated HRH Princess Angelique Monét, multi-media talent and recent Recipient of The Global Lady Icon Award at the United Nations.
The event’s goal was also to raise funds for the “Peace and Tolerance” Institution that will host educational workshops, produce global films with a platform of (peace, social justice, environmental, and culture), support online and physical media content, and assist youth to learn a variety of cultural art forms.

Special music performances by Honoree Dr. Raghunath Manet, Japanese music sensation Miou Fujinaga, Hungarian dancer, singer and actress Zoi Florosz, Cameroon Singer Eddy Berthy, and a surprise recital by Greek pianist and composer Giannis Christodoulopoulos, who composed the Music for the Olympics in 2004. Christodoulopoulos performed special sonnets written by Evi Photopolous along side with her award winning film “The Black Wine of Eros,” playing for the audience.
Evi Photopolous donated one fine art piece to AFI World Peace Initiative for future art exhibitions and Sara Tamjidi (France) . Other artists include Jean Noel Chazelle (France, Senegal), and Michel Anthony (France, Malaysia).

What happens when a 1.5-generation Cambodian American seeks answers about the Khmer Rouge — the ugly reign of terror under Pol Pot’s brutal regime? Filmmaker Mike Siv, finds himself behind the camera on a journey from California to the Khmer Rouge Trials.
Siv is a trusty narrator as he follows a feisty professor who corrals survivors to travel to Cambodia to testify in the trials. Siv is himself a survivor, having fled Cambodia at age 3.
The silence over the decades — Siv says that his own mother, a survivor, never talks about the past — is broken by the brave Cambodian American survivors. Yet, the true hero of the film is an unlikely one. The documentary takes an unexpected turn when the son of a high-profile convicted war criminal, who oversaw the killings of thousands, joins the Cambodian American refugees on a journey to seek justice.

People in the Ukrainian capital petition the government to block an ‘undeclared war’ against the East.
The city of Slavyansk is seen moments after it was liberated from Russian occupation. There are mass graves and some have land mines. The film also reveals the improper use of humanitarian aid and separatists hiding out in the city.
Hong Kong is protesting against democracy restriction and the police is attacking protestants.
