BUCHAREST: The TV documentary series The Sewer Kids, created by Michela Scolari and with the Emmy winner David Zuckerman (Family Guy) among the producers, is shooting in Bucharest from 7 to 27 June 2021. The main partner in Romania is the Parada Foundation, which has been helping children and families living in the street since 1996.

The first screening of the 8-episode series of 25 minutes each is planned to take place at the AFI World Peace Initiative in Cannes 2021. Negotiations with two important TV platforms are underway.

The list of Romanian partners includes the Romanian Union of Artists and Compania Reciclad’OR. The budget has not been disclosed.

The Sewer Kids / Copiii din canale is produced by Italy’s Bradamante Film with Michela Scolari as scriptwriter, producer and director, Felix Maximilian as producer, Jerry Ying and David Zuckerman as producers, and Gianluca Fellini as director.

The series aims at revealing the everyday life of a community ignored even since the Communist era and also at showing individuals who have managed to change their lives through social art, especially circus, with the help of the Parada Foundation.

The creators plan to donate all the revenues from the film to the Parada Foundation.
