While the Cannes Film Festival is committed this year to the protection of the planet with in particular the selection “Cinema for the climate”, the Better World Fund is organizing for the fifth time in a row an event on Monday July 12 to highlight the actors of the film industry who campaign for a better world. A tribute is paid to Barry Alexander Brown and Spike Lee.

Barry Alexander Brown honored by the Better World Fund

Better World Fund’s mission since its creation is to promote initiatives for environmental, economic and social change. Among the previous winners of the organization’s prize, we find personalities who have received prestigious prizes such as the Nobel Prize, an Oscars, a Golden Globes or a Grammy Awards. We can cite in particular: Prince Albert II , Sharon Stone , Forest Whitaker , Wim Wenders , Jean-Michel Cousteau , Mary J. Blige , Akon and Yann Arthus-Bertrand .

Better World Forum will be pleased to honor this year two iconic pioneers who shaped Hollywood cinema. Over 40 years of friendship and collaboration, Barry Alexander Brown and Spike Lee have together actively participated in creating a better world. Barry Alexander Brown,  fetish editor Spike Lee, will receive an Award for lifetime achievement by the founder and president of the Better World Forum , The Collas Manual Roche .

“ Receiving this award in Cannes and being honored alongside Spike Lee when he is president of the jury for the Film Festival is overwhelming. I have been incredibly lucky to have worked with my good friend on so many projects for so long. It is a rare thing in this profession .”
